Parkhead recognises how enthusiastic children are about ICT and its importance in today’s world. We have recently acquired 54 laptops to bring ICT learning into the classroom and support our new VLE environment.
VLE—what is it?
You may have heard your child talking about VLE this term and wondered what this is all about! VLE stands for ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ and is a website that the children, parents and teachers can access at home and school to complete and store learning activities. Children communicate with teachers and each other to find answers to questions in a safe and exciting electronic environment.
How does it work?
The VLE is now live and children have been issued with a username and password so they can logon at home and at school. If you have an internet connection you can access the VLE by typing the web address www.elgateshead.org entering the Parkhead zone then their correct username and password.
What can I do?
You can access the VLE at home with your child and discuss the outcomes of their in-school learning. Get an insight into the progress your child is making by viewing and supporting their school and home learning material. Sharing their joy in their achievement!
