Admission to Reception, Infant, Junior - September 2009
We have Primary and Nursery Information booklets and application forms which are to be used by parents for the admission of their child to Primary, Infant and Junior school in September 2009.
We will be distributing these to our nursery pupils who are of the relevant age to start school in September 2009 (and parents that have requested a pack for those schools that do not have nurseries) on Monday 22 September 2008. Parents that return their application direct to our school, must be issued with a receipt that is to be signed by school staff indicating the date the form was received.
Parents must return their application by 3 November 2008. Any form received after this date will be classed as late and parents will jeopardise their chances of gaining a place at the school they have chosen.
Please find below a list of important timescales for the 2009 admission round
22 September 2008 - Infant/Primary schools must distribute booklets and letters to nursery pupils and other parents that have requested a pack (Individual infant schools to distribute booklets to year 2 pupils). On-line system opens, for parents to apply on-line.
3 November 2008 - Closing date for parents to return application forms. Schools must forward completed forms immediately to The School Organisation and Admissions Team.
1 December 2008 - Nursery applications must be submitted by parents to their chosen nursery schools.
21 April 2009 -The LA notifies parents of the outcome of their application.
21 April 2009 - Staff at school with nurseries must notify parents of the outcome of their nursery application.
5 May 2009 - Parents should accept places by no later than this date.
Waiting lists for oversubscribed schools will operate from 21 April 2009 until 4 September 2009, any vacancies that arise at oversubscribed schools will be allocated to parents on 8 May 2009 and on a weekly basis thereafter.
