Writing competition - Expochef

We have been writing newspaper reports in Y5 and Miss Sharpe held a competition during the 'Big Write' last week for the best article to be put on the website.
The article is about our recent visit from 'Expochef' when all children in KS2 helped prepare and cook simple and tasty recipes with the chef! Well done Sophie, for winning the competition!

EXCELLENT EXPOCHEF!

On Wednesday 9th June, a cooking company named Expochef visited Parkhead Primary School to give us a lesson in how to cook healthy food.

The chef’s name was Chris. He cooked a variety of foods and most people who wanted to were able to participate therefore it was more entertaining. The foods he cooked were: burgers, smoothies, salad with dressing and Moroccan tagine.

In the afternoon, Chris did an assembly where he answered questions and played a game. In the game you had to find different foods around the hall. We all had a fantastic time!

Mr Mordue, a teacher at Parkhead commented, ‘I am glad that the children got the recipe books because now they can be healthy at home.’ Chef Chris exclaimed, ‘I had an amazing time and hope to come to this school again!’ ‘The burgers were better than McDonalds,’ said a Year 5 pupil.

Everyone had a brilliant day and I hope he comes back! Chris was really entertaining and his food was delicious.
