What is happening with P.E. this term?
We look forward to building on a truly successful year in 2017 with our PE provision. To date children in Y3 and Y4 are receiving specialist coaching in rugby, year 1 and 2 gymnastics. There has been basketball , tennis and netball lunchtime clubs for Y5/6 children. Currently there is football and gymnastics after school clubs. There has been after school clubs this year already in multisports, athletics and gymnastics and rugby. We have swimming lessons this year and look forward to even more sporting participation for our children over the next year.

In April 2013, the government announced new funding of £150 million for physical education and sport across all state-funded schools. The funding is to be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Click below to see how we are utilising this money and the specific action plan.

We strive to ensure that our children have the opportunity to apply the skills they have developed in PE lessons, lunchtime and after school clubs whilst matched against other schools in a competitive nature. To achieve this we enter a range of tournaments and festivals over the academic year.

In our Autumn term we enter a number of tournaments such as cross country, football, rugby, multi sports as well as our own inter-house tournaments.

In Spring term we participate in a major dance festival, netball tournaments, basketball competition and ongoing football matches.

Summer term is a particularly busy time as we participate in tennis competitions, a major athletics festival and numerous cricket tournaments.

Alongside these numerous events we also hold further inter-house activities in school as well as attending as many events as we can held by our feeder schools which may introduce new and interesting sports to our children.

We are proud of our provision of PE in school and are always eager to give our wonderful children the opportunity to participate in as many events as possible.

To see more of our ongoing PE provision view the PE page in the curriculum section.

During lunchtime and playtime children are encouraged to be active and try new sports.  Premier Sports are supporting us in providing a wider range of activities to children during lunchtime.
