Parkhead is awarded GOLD status for antibullying

April 6, 2020

Just a little bit of good news to share with you. I have just had confirmation that we have received GOLD status for our Anti-bullying work from the All Together Programme!

The antibullying alliance said ‘ thanks for all the work you’ve done on the All Together programme Parkhead Primary school. I’m very happy to let you know that you’ve done a great job of demonstrating your work to reduce bullying and we’re awarding you GOLD status.’

EASTER update and onwards

April 3, 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this email finds you and your families safe and well! We have come to what would have been the end of the Spring term. We are all missing the children being in school and are all thinking of our families at this uncertain time!

Easter Holidays

We will not be setting tasks during the Easter Holiday period or sending Marvellous Me! messages. This will recommence after the Easter Break on Monday 20th of April. In addition to on-line tasks set staff will be emailing further learning tasks and activities after the Easter break.

Easter Fun Activities

Some members of the support team have put together some fun, educational ideas and activities for parents and children over the Easter holidays which are available on the website.

Good Friday and Bank Holiday

School will not be open on these days as parents of Key Worker children have managed to change shifts at work. This means that there will be no one in school on these days to answer the phones or emails. We will be open on other days throughout the Easter Holidays for emergency child care, if you have any urgent queries.

The school kitchen will be closed permanently from Friday

Communication after Easter

We are in the process of setting up a Facebook page and year group email addresses to share ideas, activities and learning. More information about how parents can join the group(s) will be emailed after the Easter holidays.

Twitter and an Easter egg competition

Miss Tulip is also organising a ‘virtual’ egg decorating competition via Twitter during the Easter break. We would love parents to decorate an egg or eggs at home with their child and send us photographs of their entries before Thursday 9th April 11am. Please email them to our special email address: eastereggs@Parkheadprimary.org

We will post all entries on our twitter feed @ParkheadSchool with the first name of your child and year group. We would love everyone to join our twitter feed so we can all take part and see everyone’s entries. Its quick and simple to sign up to twitter: just google sign up to twitter and Go to http://twitter.com and find the sign up box, or go directly to https://twitter.com/signup. You will be guided through the sign up experience and prompted to enter information such as your name and email address.

Once you have joined you just need to follow @parkheadschool. You will see our familiar logo!

We will be delivering Easter eggs to the winner’s doorsteps on Thursday 9th April.
