Our Key Stage 2 children have had a fantastic time at Saltwell Park  Gateshead School Fun Run! They then enjoyed a picnic in the sunshine and games in the park.

What a fun time we had at our Stay and Play this afternoon. It was lovely to see our families enjoying time in our OPAL environment together

As part of our field work unit in Geography, Year 2 went on a walk to explore our local area. We looked at the the different types of houses and who might live there, along with the street names around school

Year 6 had a wonderful morning playing cricket at Dame Allan’s. It was lovely to see the children from both schools working together as part of a team to develop their cricket skills. Thank you to their staff for a very warm welcome.

For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been working hard to put together a time capsule. Children in each year group thought of something they could include to show people what living in 2023 is really like – some of their objects included newspapers, photographs, clothing and money. They also wrote some beautiful letters to whoever opens the time capsule in the future. Some children wrote about Winlaton and what makes it such a special place to live, while others wrote about the challenges people are facing currently and their hopes for the future. 

Today it was finally time to bury it. We hope whoever unlocks it in the future enjoys looking at it as much as we enjoyed making it!
