STEM Challenge - Road to RIAT - Gliders
Tue 31 Jan 2023This week the year 6 class took part in an online STEM day challenge, run buy the Royal Air Force. The children were exploring, designing and testing different glider shapes. They then used this knowledge to design a sustainable aircraft of the future. These will be entered into a competition with other schools to visit the Royal International Air Tattoo. We are keeping our fingers crossed! All the children had a wonderful day and learned a lot about aerodynamics and sustainability.

Gateshead Library Services - Nursery Visit
Mon 30 Jan 2023The Seedlings had a lovely visit this week by Maria from the Gateshead Library services. They listened to a very funny story called One Banana, Two Bananas and then they learned a counting rhyme about bananas too.

Natural History Society of Northumbria.
Fri 27 Jan 2023Willow class had a lovely afternoon with Julie from the Natural History Society of Northumbria. They spent time in our woods, listening to the sounds of nature before collecting some natural resources. They used these to create posters to show how valuable nature is and the importance of protecting the world around us.

Smoothie Bike
Fri 27 Jan 2023Year 3 enjoyed a lovely visit from our school catering team ‘Orian’ this week. They brought along a smoothie bike and the children all had an opportunity to have a turn and make a smoothie. The children learned all about the benefits of drinking smoothies and had lots of fun.

Singing Together
Fri 27 Jan 2023We love seeing so many nursery parent’s and carer’s attend our 'Singing Together' sessions with the children. Singing Together takes place every Wednesday in the nursery building. For those attending morning nursery, your session will take place at 11.30am – 11.45am, and afternoon/full day nursery session’s will take place at 3.00pm – 3.15pm. We hope to see you all there!

Workshops with Network Rail
Fri 27 Jan 2023On Monday 23 January we welcomed Chloe from Network Rail to delivered some workshops across school on rail safety. She discussed some of the key dangers around the railway and ways we can keep safe.

Natural History Society of Northumbria visiting Year 3 Maple class
Fri 27 Jan 2023Year 3 have enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Julie from the Natural History Society of Northumbria. Maple class have been learning about the environment and the issues associated with it such as global warming and plastic pollution. After spending some time in our beautiful school grounds, the children were tasked with appreciating nature using their senses. They then made some art work based on nature and finally, made pledges on how they were going to help nature and the environment.
