We love World Book Day at Parkhead!  As always, there was a fantastic array of costumes and lots of exciting activities taking place throughout the day with a focus on reading for pleasure:

• Each child came dressed as a ‘word’ and there certainly were some weird and wonderful ones!  We even learnt some new words and their meanings. 
• A special announcement was made everywhere via our Amazon Alexa’s to tell us that we had to drop everything and read! 
• Children had some free time to look at a large selection of new books that we have just purchased.
• Classes watched online sessions with different authors
• Our Reading Ambassadors took on very important roles and visited a different class to read them a story.
