SATS Week
Fri 06 May 2022On Monday, SATs week will begin for our Year 6 children who will sit a range of tests starting with Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG). The hard work that Year 6 have put in over the past year is incredible and we have immensely talented, kind, passionate and resilient pupils at Parkhead that we are all extremely proud of.
Looking back over the unprecedented events that you have all overcome in the last 2 years just shows that you are truly unstoppable – you all have a lot to be proud of!
It is vitally important that pupils have a good night’s sleep and arrive at school on time to get settled and ensure they are fully prepared for their assessments. To support with this, we will be offering breakfast to Year 6 children Monday – Thursday next week. They will be provided with a range of breakfast items including pastries, toast, crumpets, fruit and yogurts. Please enter school via the main entrance at 8.30am.

We launched it last term to encourage a whole school approach to LGBT+ inclusion. Children have been taking part in assemblies and lessons which promote inclusion, diversity and equality for all.
Thank you to Mr Robson for painting them for us! We think they look fabulous!

Commando Joe’s
Fri 08 Apr 2022We are very excited to be implementing a new initiative for our children in the summer term. Commando Joe’s is a programme designed to develop character education which we believe is at the heart of successful learning. The challenges and activities are designed to provide all children with the chance to achieve, be resilient, tolerant of others and develop the ability to make great choices in life both in and outside of school. Through the programme the children will focus on the character traits of: resilience, empathy, self-awareness, passion, excellence, communication and teamwork. Year 4 have already completed their first mission and have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
