  • Time Capsule

Fri 05 May 2023 Mrs Lane

For the past couple of weeks, we’ve been working hard to put together a time capsule. Children in each year group thought of something they could include to show people what living in 2023 is really like – some of their objects included newspapers, photographs, clothing and money. They also wrote some beautiful letters to whoever opens the time capsule in the future. Some children wrote about Winlaton and what makes it such a special place to live, while others wrote about the challenges people are facing currently and their hopes for the future.

Today it was finally time to bury it. We hope whoever unlocks it in the future enjoys looking at it as much as we enjoyed making it!

  • Year 3 Visit - Winlaton Forge

Tue 25 Apr 2023 Mrs Lane

Year 3 had a great time at the forge in Winlaton on Tuesday. They enjoyed finding out about Winlaton’s fascinating past from some members of the Winlaton Historical Society and seeing some of the tools that were used in the past. Did you know the forge is one of the oldest buildings left in the village? The children are so excited to continue their learning on Winlaton!

We also received a message from Susan from the Historical Society to say what a lovely group of children they were. She said that herself and the other two members found the morning with the childen an absolute pleasure! Well done to year 3, you are a credit to our school.
