  • National Literacy Trust

Thu 23 Mar 2023 Mrs Lane

Thanks to the National Literacy Trust we've been lucky enough to win multiple copies of Tom Palmer's book 'After The War; from Auschwitz to Ambleside'. This fantastic story is based on real life accounts of The Windemere Boys - child survivors of Auschwitz who were relocated to The Lake District.

It's not suitable for our younger readers, but we'll be leaving copies of the book in the year 5 and 6 classrooms and on the library bus for any of our older readers (or their adults) who would like to read it.

Red Nose Day is taking place Friday 17 March 2023. This year’s contributions raised for Red Nose Day will help raise awareness around the cost of living crisis as millions of people throughout the UK and across the world need support now more than ever.

The School Council have decided that it would be good fun to hold a Talent Show and for the children to come into school in non-uniform on Friday 17 March. Children are welcome to bring in a donation for this cause.
